Lead Instructional Guide/ Tutor
Nadia Viscuso is an educator, science wiz, and wildlife connoisseur. She has taught science, math, and literacy across the globe – from Kenya to Thailand to the United States – and is excited to bring her passion and experience to Inspired Movement Dance’s Learning Space.
Nadia moved to San Diego five years ago, chasing great weather and good vibes. She is a sunshine enthusiast who loves hiking and running with her dog Meeko, who is trained to work with students too!
She attended Duke University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with a concentration in Animal Behavior, as well as a minor in Education. She spent her first post-university year studying elephant behavior for three months in Northern Thailand. Upon return, she began professionally teaching students with various learning disabilities in numerous Math and Science courses.
Through her coursework and post-graduation experiences, Nadia has been working with students of all learning abilities from grades 5-12 for about 8 years. She also earned herself the D.T. Stallings Award in 2015 for excellent rapport and long lasting relationships with students. She believes in “reaching” students to establish the roots for long-lasting learning.
On the weekends, Nadia serves as an Educator Guide at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Ask her for some cool animal facts and she will talk your ear off! With whatever time is left in her day, Nadia is also completing her Master of Arts in Biology through Miami University. She is in constant pursuit of her life dream of becoming the hybrid of Jane Goodall and Steve Irwin. Croikey!
