We do not operate under the same guidelines as public schools, therefore, IMD's Learning Space will not be providing curriculum. Students must be enrolled in a K-12 remote learning program. Inspired Movement, Inc follows our national association guidelines, and is independently youth protection certified.
Where is IMD's Learning Space?
Services will be offered onsite at Inspired Movement Dance facility. Our address is16089 San Dieguito Rd suite H104.
The facility has five socially-distanced instructional rooms, parking, security systems, state of the art air handling capacity, and outdoor space for lunch and group work.
Is lunch included?
No. Students will need to bring their own lunch and snacks each day.
In addition to lunch, what else do students need to bring each day?
Students must have their own charged electronic device for remote learning (Laptop or tablet), a charger, comfortable headphones, a mask, school supplies and workbooks required by their school. Students must also bring lunch, snacks, and a water bottle.
How many students can participate?
Each class will be limited to 10 students, which will be considered a cohort or "pod." Each pod will stay together to minimize community exposure.
What if I try to register, but it’s full?
Unfortunately, space is limited to maintain safe social distancing. However, we will keep a waiting list and reach out if a space opens up.
Do you have before and after care available?
We will add this feature if there is enough need. Please indicate your interest when registering.
Who will be supervising the students?
The Learning Space will be supervised by professional and experienced educators who will help students log-in to their learning platforms, navigate virtual learning each day, and create a sense of community. We will also offer onsite tutoring and individual academic support for an additional cost. (Limited availability!) Please indicate your interest when registering.
Is there a fee?
Yes. Our Learning Space is a fee-based service similar to a day camp or other youth development activities. Registration requires a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $45 which will hold your space between now and the start of classes. Beginning the first week of classes, weekly fees of $25/per day for half days, or $39/per day for full days, will be charged to your account on the Monday of each week. For your convenience, weekly fees will be drafted automatically beginning Monday, August 31st until you terminate your enrollment. ***Please note: A one-week notice is required to withdraw.
Speaking of fees, what do they go toward?
Weekly fees are charged to cover expenses such as the hiring of staff, background checks, training, administration, equipment, wifi, materials, cleaning protocols and space.
Do you offer discounts or financial aid?
Yes. We offer a 30% OFF sibling discount. So if you have two children choosing part-time programming, you would pay $25/day for the first child and $17.50/day for the 2nd child.
What protections and procedures are in place to fight community spread of COVID-19?
Inspired Movement, Inc follows the More Than Just Great Dancing!® Safer Studio™ policies and procedures, which focuses on a hierarchy of measures: Avoiding contact with anyone with symptoms; frequent hand cleaning and good hygiene practices; amplified cleaning; and minimizing contact and mingling between pods.
What measures are put in place to foster a sense of normalcy for children in a pandemic world?
When it comes to learning, children need consistency and routine. Did you know daily routines are stabilizing for children? The simple act of getting up in the morning to get dressed and “go to school,” can be a significant anchor for a child in a turbulent time. Our classrooms are well lit and cheery, and the important routines of school, such as classroom greetings, socialization and community building, are present in our program.
Will there be temperature checks?
Yes, all staff and students will have their temperature checked daily upon arrival.
Will the staff and students have to wear masks?
Yes. We require all staff and students over the age of five to wear a mask while indoors. Students do not have to wear a face covering while outdoors if spread out appropriately from other children.
What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
Staff, parents and students should know the symptoms of COVID-19:
Shortness of breath
Muscle and joint pain (multiple)
Nausea or vomiting
Loss of sense of smell
What is your illness protocol?
Staff and students should notify the Inspired Movement learning Space administrators and contact healthcare providers if they develop symptoms of COVID-19 or any other illness, and will be asked to STAY HOME until they are symptom-free for 72 hours. Any student who becomes unwell during the school day will wait in a special isolation area, which is supervised by a staff member, until a parent or guardian can arrive. Students or staff who test positively for COVID-19 will follow the CDC current recommendations for self isolation. Students may take up to a two week leave of absence and keep their place in the program. If there is a positive report of COVID-19 in our learning community, we will follow the county’s current guidelines for notifications.
