Lisa Loree is a professional Ballerina, Instructor, Life Coach, and Mom. Starting ballet lessons at 3
years old, she has lifelong skills on and off the stage. So deep was her passion for a performing career that she and her mom moved to New York City from the vineyard where she grew up when she was just 17, having received a full scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet School. Lisa signed her first professional contract with Joffrey when she was 18 years old. But then tragedy struck when her mom lost a very grueling battle with cancer. It was a very traumatic event for Lisa and she left New York soon after.
Lisa continued dancing as a principal dancer with Ballet Arizona and Nevada Ballet Theatre dancing many roles and ballets. Some of her favorites are principal roles in works by George Balanchine, title roles such as Cinderella, and other principal roles such as Sugar Plum Fairy--and virtually every other role in the Nutcracker over the years, including her years and many other productions with the civic ballet company in her home town. Lisa was trained by exceptional instructors and performers of their own right, including Francesca Corkle, Meredith Baylis, Cherie Noble, and John Clifford. She thoroughly enjoys imparting the treasure she was given by them to her own students, so they can enjoy all ballet has to offer, to the best of their ability. Lisa has had the joy of teaching all skill levels and ages, from way beginner to professional, ages 3 to 87!
Losing her mom at such a young age was a major tragic event but only one of many traumas to shape her life. She survived several childhood traumas as well as a 21 year marriage which ended in a very ugly divorce with an extreme custody battle. Due to this marriage, Lisa did not dance at the professional level (and at some points not at all) for over 20 years. She is also acquainted with the struggles faced by parents and families of special needs kids as her own two have special needs themselves, autism/Asperger’s Syndrome and Sensory Processing Disorder respectively. Because of these hardships Lisa has a deep awareness of Complex-PTSD and compassion for others struggling in their own lives. Becoming a Life Coach was a natural way for her to help others move forward from being survivors to thrivers! Thus, Truly L’ree was created. Through this avenue Lisa is able to coach others to help them attain more for their lives…from gaining a healthy mindset to losing weight and getting into shape, to becoming their best selves.
