Chantel Keiko Ricks
Office Assistant & Marketing
Born and raised in the SF Bay Area, Chantel graduated from SJSU with a degree in advertising and does freelance Media & Design. Currently, she's focusing on film projects revolving around empowerment and physical movement. At SJSU, she danced and competed with the one of the top collegiate salsa teams in the nation, Spartan Mambo. Involving coaching from some of the best in the latin dance world, her team pulled off complicated partner work including flips and tricks.
Chantel grew up with her three sisters, involved in gymnastics, karate and swimming for years. At last, she convinced her parents to allow her to do theatre..eventually acting in some 15 plays and musicals. Many singing and dance recitals later, she is an artist at heart. Chantel has showcased her paintings at multiple Saratoga Rotary Art Shows--of course photography, videography, writing, backpacking, and cooking plant-based are just a few of her additional hobbies.
Travels: she's grateful for her mother teaching her strict spending habits--this allowed her to save enough to backpack in many countries. Chantel studied abroad in London, England for a semester.
Chantel moved to San Diego in January of 2018, where she's been enjoying running on the beach, surfing, dancing at Culture Shock, and living a low waste and plant-based lifestyle. She believes life is about keeping an open mind and connecting with others. Be that through dance, speech, music, film or any other form of art: self-expression.
