Boysie Dikobe

Ballet, IMBC

Born in South Africa, Boysie Dikobe started his ballet training in the Cecchetti Method. He then attended The National School of the Arts as a ballet major and minor in Contemporary, Jazz, African Dance and Flamenco dance.

 

At age 16, he joined what was then the South African Ballet Theatre dancing in Romeo and Juliet, Swan lake and The Nutcracker. 

In 2008 Boysie was the youngest competitor in kyknets dans, dans, dans and also competed in The inaugural South African International Ballet Competition, winning him the Judges recommendation and a scholarship to The Washington School of Ballet where he trained with Kee Juan Han and Carlos Valcarcel. While also performing  with the second company and the main company performing at the Kennedy Center.

He finished in the Top 12 Men in the New York Finals of the Youth America Grand Prix 2009 and later moved to New York to join Les Ballet Grandiva. In 2011 Boysie joined  Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo and performing around the world.

In 2016 worked full time with Youth America Grand Prix as a Social Media Associate and Development Associate ,later returning to Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo as one of the Senior dancers till 2019.

Boysie has been a guest teacher for Mzansi Ballet, The Washington School of Ballet, Brooklyn Recreational Center, The National School of the Arts (Johannesburg). He became PBT Certified in 2018.
